HOA May 19 meeting-key points

The phone conference meeting was held at 6:00 pm and lasted about an hour. A dozen or so people dialed in, not a great showing but understandable. There were no hot topics on the agenda and no owner comments of general interest were made. The key takeaways were:

  • The board welcomed our new general counsel, John Hanson and our new security company, Securitas.
  • Arc meetings have been suspended and business is being handled by email. The welcome committee will come out of hibernation next week.
  • Despite the fallout from COVID-19, there has been no significant increase in delinquency of dues payments.  Good news.
  • The asphalt project is on track.  Some patch work will be happening next month with the major sealing taking place on a rotating basis in mid-August.  There will be one day road closures requiring people to move their cars for use.  The schedule was published on Town Square and emails will be sent so there are no surprises.
  • There was no new activity reported with respect to the golf course except that it is experiencing unprecedented play activity.  Perhaps that is a good sign for its longevity.
  • The Walerga Cottage is ready.  A decision will be made after June 1 as to when Angie and her assistant will move in.
  • Since most vendors are closed or on limited activity, the work on speed cameras and improved protection/surveillance at night on the pedestrian gates has been put on hold.
  • The January Board vacancy election results were affirmed.  Walt Tibet and Deb McSherry were elected to two-year terms.  The Board has decided to keep Board member responsibilities the same.
  • An effort will be made to do video conferencing at the next meeting should remote participation is still necessary.  The phone conferencing worked fine but video would be a step up.

The continuing good work of the all-volunteer board is most appreciated.
