The group of concerned MC homeowner’s that has sponsored this Blog has published it’s first newsletter. It is now being hand-delivered to all MC homeowners with the intent of keeping everyone informed of the current happenings in our community. We decided to fill the gap left vacant by our current Board and Management Company. We all deserve to know what is going on and not just get bits of the news at the periodic HOA meetings. We would love your feedback on the newsletter and comments on the topics it covers. Please post your thoughts on this blog.
Love it! I appreciate any additional information I can get when it comes to my community and my home values. Thank you for taking the time and making the effort. It is greatly appreciated.
Love this!!!!!!!!! Thank you to whoever started it.
Charlie Gibson has played the same game at Whitney Oak Golf Course in Rocklin (Ask for financial help from home owners, threaten to close the golf course or build a Housing Davison). But the HOA of that area tool firm stand not to subside him financially. That Golf course ended up in sale and now it is in operation with profits. In my opinion Charlie Gibson is incapable person to run the golf courses. He was failure at Whitney Oak and again he is a failure at Morgan Creek Golf course. I think we should let him sell the golf course. I know there will be plenty of buyers for it.

Charlies is playing the same cards again in a second golf course. I am sure there will be enough potential buyers for this golf course and they will run this golf course smoother and effectively than Charlie.
To my understanding, Whitney Oaks did not re-open as a Golf Course. After much pressure from homeowners because the property was laying fallow and creating a lot of health and safety issues for the surrounding community, the City of Rocklin paid Charlie and his partner Joe Syufy a handsome profit and it is now open space. Charlie and Joe walked away with millions.
I believe that you are discribing the ill-fated Sunset Whitney Country Club/Rocklin Golf Course,
Actually, I believe we are talking about Sunset Whitney, not Whitney Oaks.
You are correct it was Sunset Whitney. The City of Rocklin did come in and pay him and his partner millions. Rumor has it he sold the one in Davis too. The game is the same with him. Remember the lot on the corner by the club house! He threatened the same thing. We all caved in. Where are we with that whole project. Last time I checked there isn’t anything built there. The best thing that could happen is that someone will come in and buy it from him and we all move on without him. It’s obvious by his track record that he doesn’t know what he is doing.
Many of us have heard Charlie say he has no intention of selling the course. If it’s in such a state, it doesn’t make sense he won’t sell it, unless his real intention is to develop it. After all, the other owner is a developer.
Really like the newsletter and blog. Thanks for keeping us all informed and setting these up.
I definitely like being informed for sure. How long has this been know issue that the Golf Course was potentially in trouble?
Having a place for Morgan Creek residents to communicate and share information is great. I just hope everyone stays curtious and respectful. This has been an issue on the Nextdoor page.
