  1. The replacement of Associa with a more professionally run management company that uses modern technologies and practices is way overdue and should have happened 4 years ago.

Several Members of the Board, at that time, had spent over 6 months interviewing management companies and was ready to announce their selection which was delayed pending election results of new Board Members. The new Board was installed and Walt Tibbet was designated President.

The first action of the new President, without consultation with the full Board, was to sign a contract retaining Associa as our Management Company. With this unilateral decision, the hard work of the selection committee was summarily disregarded. In my estimation, this senseless action denied our community the opportunity to modernize it’s management approach, improve services and better manage it’s finances. And, we have suffered, accordingly, over the last four years.

So yes, here’s a warm welcome to FirstService Residential and an applause to the current Board for enacting this long overdue change in Management Companies.
