Our wonderful community is not only home to over 500 houses but also has an 18-hole championship golf course which, as good neighbors, houses within it a Placer county designated riparian sanctuary with bike and walking paths along Dry Creek. The golf course is also home to a protected area on the grounds which is home to the endangered elderberry longhorn beetle.
And our golf course abuts Dry Creek Regional Park which according to the Placer County Land Trust is the “crown jewel” in southern Placer county open space plan and a “protected bio-diverse species habitat”. There’s no way the county would ever allow development adjacent to Dry Creek. Also the riparian sanctuary is home to birds on the threatened or endanger species list which the federal government uses to enforce restrictions on habitat destruction. Regardless of the decisions the golf course owner makes about his business and the land, he will never be able to get regulatory and environmental zoning to allow development near Dry Creek. That is one saving grace.
