Your Board has published an announcement to homeowners and residents. In it they discuss their intent to better enforce the CC&R’s for the benefit of the community as a whole, and stop overlooking properties with serious violations. They have also announced simplifications and clarifications of the Architectural review process. These actions should benefit the Community as a whole. In addition the Board stated plans to further reduce greeter hours, especially during overnight hours. This action is in keeping with the original intent of gate installation, namely to reduce and control labor expense. This was and continues to be a major line item in our association’s budget.
This latest announcement is further evidence of the new Board’s increased dedication to supporting our community. As always, if you have any comments feel free to express them here, or attend the next Community open forum on Tuesday, July 16 at 6:30 pm at the pavilion.
It’s good to see this Board’s intention to aggressively enforce our community’s CC&R’s. Hopefully, enforcement is administered in a consistent manner and those that violate our standards are held accountable. This is one sure way to help maintain the beauty and distinct character of our neighborhood.
The Board’s action to add additional approved colors from which home owners can select to paint their fences and homes is very positive and a welcomed improvement, However, prior to taking action, it would have been more appropriate for the Board to have circulated a proposed resolution of their intentions to all homeowners for a 30 day review so the community had a chance to comment and participate in the process.
This was a missed opportunity. At the very first meeting of this Board, each member promised the community complete transparency and open communication. That promise is best served when the community is involved in the process of establishing new rules and regulations, not just informed of new rules and regulations that the Board has enacted on our behalf.
Government always works best when those that are governed have a voice in their governance.
