Golf Course Application AGAIN Deemed Incomplete by County

In their September 23 response to the latest request by Morgan Creek, LLC. Placer County has again deemed their Project Application incomplete. The letter has been distributed by our Board to homeowners. In their summary they point out that the County wants more clarification on the proposed 9-hole golf course and how the applicant will maintain vacated land.

Perhaps more important is the County’s continued insistence that this project is not a “development project” as defined under SB330 since it requires legislative action to change Zoning and Community planning. Removing it from SB330, the low-cost housing bill, exposes it to the full range of discussion and remedies afforded to all other development projects. This represents a very significant impact to timelines and the approval process.

On a lighter note, in a possible sign of Morgan Creek, LLC’s commitment to the current golf course, they appear to be performing voluntary upgrades such as course aeration and parking lot resurfacing. Let’s hope the trend continues and maybe relations with our community might improve as well.

For those of you interested in the details, a copy of the County’s letter is included in the post below. As always, comments are welcome.
